Something special, something important happens when a community comes together – problems get fixed. That’s what Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is all about. The determination of everyone involved to make a difference was clearly demonstrated at the well attended kick off breakfast for this year’s October 20th Point Pleasant Beach event. The room at Monmouth University was filled with people who are preparing to take a walk that can change people’s lives. This isn’t about the distance covered but the money that will be raised to help women who are facing breast cancer and for the research into better treatments and prevention of the disease.
It was great to see so much enthusiasm and a real pleasure to meet those who stopped by our table. We were glad to let people know how the advanced 3D technology available at our mammography center has improved cancer detection and reduced false alarms.
We wish the Making Strides organizers and participants all 
the best as they prepare in the coming weeks for this big event. We look forward to seeing you there.
